The Misconceptions of Abortion

Posted on 10/21/2016 by Stacy Mal

The most common misconceptions I keep coming across regarding the atrocity of abortion.

I'd like to comment on the most common misconceptions appearing in my newsfeed regarding the issue of abortion.... It seems there's some confusion out there.
Misconception #1: Donald Trump is wrong - babies aren't ripped from the mothers womb late-term.
The Truth: In the 7th undercover video released, Holly O’Donnell described the harvesting, or “procurement,” of organs from a nearly intact late-term fetus aborted at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s Alameda clinic in San Jose, CA. The 11th video catches a Texas Planned Parenthood abortionist planning to sell the intact heads of aborted babies for research. Amna Dermish is caught on tape describing a partial-birth abortion procedure to terminate living, late-term unborn babies which she hopes will yield "intact fetal heads for brain harvesting." There are many more instances that prove late term abortion happens. And it's actually even more gruesome than Trump described.
Misconception #2: The Government cannot get involved in what a woman does with her body or her healthcare.
The Truth: Government has always been involved in what citizens do with their bodies. For example, you cannot put drugs in your body. You cannot sell your body on the street. You cannot walk your naked body into the grocery store. You cannot force your body onto another body. You cannot stand your body on a train track. You cannot even jaywalk for crying out loud! And healthcare? Do we really want to talk about government's involvement in healthcare?? You cannot refuse to immunize your body. You cannot refuse to "insure" your body. My goodness, you can't even choose what kind of doctor examines your body in most cases. The examples are endless. You might argue that all of the above involve harm to someone else, that's why it's against the law. Yes, exactly, so does abortion.
Misconception #3: The fetus is not a person or a citizen with full rights, and so it is not considered "murder."
The Truth: Ok, so "technically" the law does not spell out the citizenship or rights for the unborn. Buuuut, pregnant women who use illegal drugs are often charged with things like Child Abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, and Manslaughter. Johnson v. State, 578 So. 2d 419 (Fla. 1991). So how can you be guilty of MANslaughter if the victim isn't a person??
Misconception #4: Abortion is not cruel because the fetus doesn't feel pain.
The Truth: Anatomical studies have proven a fetus can feel pain at 8 weeks. And that the body’s pain network—the spino-thalamic pathway—is fully and completely established by 20 weeks. Studies prove that not only does a fetus feel pain, it has a heightened sense of it.
Please friends, if you're going to try to defend Hillary Clinton on this issue, at least base it on the facts. The fact is a fetus IS a person who feels pain, Planned Parenthood IS performing horrific late-term procedures, and the government absolutely does have a right to outlaw this. Please don't sugar coat this atrocity.
